While the wheel is a great tool to help build your vocabulary, it actually was developed by Dr. Gloria Willcox decades ago and has been used by several counseling centers and outreach groups as a way to help clients better describe their emotions.

Children dealing with loss and trauma are generally dealing with emotions they have never felt before. Alternatively, they are dealing with an intensity of emotions they have never felt before. Either way, they are ill-equipped to deal with those emotions.
